Barringer Ridge Cottages

1)Review added by Albert Jones (05-31-2008)
I stayed here and it was VERY bad! The place is not a cozy place. The furniture is very sparse, no decorating what so ever. More of an apartment in a city than a cottage. The place is located near the Horse Camp for the state park so you hear horses all day and night and SMELL horse manure whenever the wind blows. We smelled the manure inside the "cottage" easily. They ride the horses up and down the road and since these cottages sit very close to the road and horses have a way of spreading manure, well, the road has a lot of manure thus a strong smell. I mentioned that they sit close to the road and the hot tub can easily be seen from the road, nice.......... not. Oh, the owner, who lives right there as well.... they have 2 litlte yappy dogs who love to bark at horses. Every time horses go by, and they go by lots! The little yappy dogs run around the yard and bark and bark. The fire place where we stayed wasn;t done yet, no mantle installed and no grout in the tiles. It was a gas deal, and not even a good one. Fake gas logs with no imagination to hide that fact. Looked more like the burners on grandma's old hotpoint range in the 50's. If you're one to go get the rustic, romantice experience and are tryign to get away fromt he urban chaos, this isn't the place because it is just more of the same. you can find better elsewhere. MUSCH BETTER! Stay away.
