As of the 2020 Census, the population was 116,894. The county seat is Wooster. The county has a total area of approximately 559 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, including Apple Creek, Dalton, Orrville, Smithville, and Wooster. The county is predominantly rural, with agriculture and manufacturing being the main industries. Wayne County is home to several state and local parks, including the Wayne County Park District, the Wooster Memorial Park, and the Mohican State Park. The county is also home to the Wayne County Public Library and the Wayne County Fairgrounds.
