Kelleys Island is a small island in Lake Erie. It has a population of about 300 people, but it attracts many tourists and seasonal residents in the summer. Some of the places of interest on the island include the Glacial Grooves State Memorial, which features the largest and most easily accessible glacial grooves in the world; the Inscription Rock Petroglyphs, which are ancient carvings on a limestone boulder; and the Kelleys Island State Park, which offers camping, hiking, fishing and boating opportunities. The largest employers in the city are the Kelleys Island Ferry Boat Line, which provides transportation to and from the mainland; the Kelleys Island Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, which promotes tourism and local businesses; and the Kelleys Island School District, which operates the only school on the island for grades K-12.
