Hancock County is located in northwest Ohio, and is bordered by Wood County to the north, Seneca and Wyandot Counties to the east, Hardin County to the south, and Putnam and Allen Counties to the west. It is named after John Hancock, the first signer of the Declaration of Independence. The county seat is Findlay. According to the 2020 Census, the county has a population of 74,920 people. The economy of Hancock County is diverse, with manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare being the major industries. The county is home to several small manufacturing companies, and is also a major agricultural producer, with corn, soybeans, and wheat being the major crops. Hancock County is also home to a number of healthcare facilities, including Blanchard Valley Health System. The county is known for its beautiful countryside and its many parks and recreational areas, and is a popular destination for outdoor activities, such as hiking, fishing, and birdwatching. The county is also home to a number of interesting historical sites and cultural attractions, including the Hancock Historical Museum and the Findlay Art League.
