Marietta, Ohio
Marietta is a city located at the confluence of the Muskingum and Ohio Rivers. It is the county seat of Washington County and the principal city of the Marietta micropolitan area. According to the 2020 census, Marietta has a population of 13,385 people, which is a slight decrease from the 2010 census.
Marietta was founded in 1788 by pioneers to the Ohio Country, and it was the first permanent settlement in the Northwest Territory. It was named for Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France, in honor of French aid in the American Revolution.
