Gallia County is a county in southeastern Ohio, with a population of 29,220 as of 2020. The county seat and largest village is Gallipolis, which was founded by French immigrants in 1790. Gallia County is named after the Latin word for Gaul, the ancient region of Western Europe that included France. Gallia County has several places of interest, such as the Bob Evans Farm and Museum, the Our House Museum, and the Gallia County Historical Society. The largest employers in the county are Holzer Health System, Gallipolis City Schools, and Gallia County Local Schools.
