Hiram is a small village in northern Portage County, with a population of 996 as of 2020. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area and the home of Hiram College, a private liberal arts college. Hiram was formed from portions of Hiram Township in the Connecticut Western Reserve. Some of the places of interest in Hiram include the home of President James A. Garfield from 1863 to 1876, the Nelson Kennedy Ledges State Park, and the John Johnson Farm. The largest employers in Hiram are Hiram College, Hiram Village, and Hiram Inn & Conference Center.
