Holmes Countyis located in east central Ohio, bordered by Ashland and Wayne Counties to the north, Ashland and Knox Counties to the west, Coshocton County to the south, and Stark and Tuscarawas Counties to the east. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 44,223. The county seat is Millersburg. The county has a total area of approximately 471 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, including Berlin, Glenmont, Millersburg, and Walnut Creek. The county is predominantly rural, with agriculture and manufacturing being the main industries. Holmes County is home to several state and local parks, including the Holmes County Park District, the P.I. Nixon County Park, and the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area. The county is also home to the Holmes County District Public Library and the Holmes County Fairgrounds.
