Kent is a city in Ohio, USA, with a population of 28,215 as of 2020. It is situated along the Cuyahoga River in Northeast Ohio and is part of the Akron metropolitan area. Kent is known for being the home of Kent State University, which was founded in 1910 and has over 35,000 students. Kent State University is also the site of the infamous Kent State shootings in 1970, when four students were killed by the National Guard during a protest against the Vietnam War.
