Knox County is located in north central Ohio, bordered by Richland and Ashland Counties to the north, Holmes and Coshocton Counties to the east, Licking County to the south, and Morrow and Delaware Counties to the west. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 62,721. The county seat is Mount Vernon. The county has a total area of approximately 417 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, including Danville, Gambier, Mount Vernon, and Utica. The county is predominantly rural, with agriculture and manufacturing being the main industries. Knox County is home to several state and local parks, including the Knox County Park District, the Kokosing Gap Trail, and the Mohican-Memorial State Forest. The county is also home to the Knox County Public Library and the Knox County Fairgrounds.
