Lake County is located in northeastern Ohio, bordered by Lake Erie to the north, Cuyahoga County to the west, Geauga County to the south, and Ashtabula County to the east. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 232,603. The county seat is Painesville. The county has a total area of approximately 503 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, including Eastlake, Kirtland, Mentor, Painesville, and Willoughby. The county is home to several state and local parks, including Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park, Headlands Beach State Park, and Holden Arboretum. The county is also home to Lake Erie College and the Lake County YMCA.
