Licking County is located in central Ohio, bordered by Coshocton and Muskingum Counties to the east, Fairfield and Perry Counties to the south, Delaware and Franklin County to the west, and Knox County to the north. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 178,519. The county seat is Newark. The county has a total area of approximately 587 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, as well as the cities of Granville, Heath, and Newark. Licking County is home to several state and local parks, including the Licking County Park District, the Dawes Arboretum, and the Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve. The county is also home to the Licking County Library and the Licking County Fairgrounds.
