Logan County is located in central Ohio, bordered by Union County to the east, Champaign County to the south, Shelby County to the west, Auglaize County to the northwest, and Hardin County to the north. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,150. The county seat is Bellefontaine. Logan County is part of the Lima, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county was named for Benjamin Logan, a pioneer and military officer who served in the American Revolutionary War. The county was originally settled in the early 19th century by European Americans, mostly migrants from Virginia and Pennsylvania. The economy of Logan County is diverse, with industries ranging from manufacturing to healthcare. The county is home to several large companies, including Honda of America Manufacturing and NEX Transport. Logan County is home to several state parks, including Indian Lake State Park and Bellefontaine State Forest. The county is also home to the Logan County Historical Society Museum.
