Marion is a city and the county seat of Marion County. It has a population of about 36,000 people and is located about 50 miles north of Columbus. Marion is known for being the home of President Warren G. Harding, who is buried at Harding Tomb, and for being a major industrial center until the 1970s. Some of the products made in Marion include steam shovels, power shovels, and crawler-transporters for NASA.
