Mercer County is bordered by Auglaize County to the east, Darke County to the south, the state of Indiana to the west, and Van Wert County to the north. It is located in the west central part of the state, and its county seat is Celina. The county was named after Hugh Mercer, a Revolutionary War general. As of the 2020 Census, Mercer County has a population of 42,528 people. The economy of the county is diverse, with a mix of agriculture, manufacturing, and service industries. The county is home to a number of parks and recreational areas, including Indian Lake State Park and Grand Lake St. Marys State Park.
