Munroe Falls is a city in Summit County. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 5,054. The city is named after William Munroe, a settler from Massachusetts who founded a trading post at the falls in 1809. Munroe Falls has several places of interest, such as the Munroe Falls Metro Park, which offers hiking trails, fishing and canoeing along the Cuyahoga River. The city also hosts an annual River Day festival in May, featuring live music, food and environmental activities. Some of the largest employers in Munroe Falls are the Munroe Falls Rubber Company, which produces rubber products for various industries; the Munroe Falls Paper Company, which manufactures specialty paper products; and the Munroe Falls School District, which operates four schools in the city.
