Paulding County is located in northwest Ohio, bordered by Defiance County to the north, Putnam and Allen Counties to the east, Van Wert County to the south, and the state of Indiana to the west. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 18,806. The county seat is Paulding. The county has a total area of approximately 412 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, including Antwerp, Paulding, Payne, and Oakwood. The county is predominantly rural, with agriculture and manufacturing being the main industries. Paulding County is home to several state and local parks, including the Paulding County Park District, the Van Wert County Park District, and the Van Wert Reservoir State Nature Preserve.
