Portage County is located in northeastern Ohio, bordered by Geauga County to the north, Stark County to the south, Trumbull and Mahoning Counties to the east, and Summit County to the west. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 161,791. The county seat is Ravenna. The county has a total area of approximately 423 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, as well as the cities of Kent and Ravenna. Portage County is home to several state and local parks, including the Portage County Park District, the West Branch State Park, and the Nelson Kennedy Ledges State Park. The county is also home to the Portage County District Library and the Portage County Agricultural Society.
