Putnam County is located in northwest Ohio, bordered by Defiance and Henry Counties to the north, Hancock County to the east, Allen County to the south, and Paulding and Van Wert Counties to the west. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 34,451. The county seat is Ottawa. The county has a total area of approximately 412 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, including Continental, Columbus Grove, Fort Jennings, Leipsic, and Pandora. The county is predominantly rural, with agriculture and manufacturing being the main industries. Putnam County is known for its beautiful parks and recreational areas, including Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, Ottawa Park District, and Ottawa Metro Park.
