Seneca County is located in northwest Ohio, and is bordered by Sandusky County to the north, Huron County to the east, Wyandot and Crawford Counties to the south, and Hancock and Wood Counties to the west. It is named after the Seneca Native American tribe. The county seat is Tiffin. According to the 2020 Census, the county has a population of 55,069 people. The economy of Seneca County is diverse, with manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare being the major industries. The county is home to several small manufacturing companies, and is also a major agricultural producer, with corn, soybeans, and wheat being the major crops. Seneca County is also home to a number of healthcare facilities, including Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital and Seneca County Health Department. The county is known for its picturesque countryside, and is a popular destination for outdoor recreational activities, such as hiking, fishing, and hunting. The county is also home to a number of interesting historical sites and cultural attractions, including the Seneca Caverns and the Tiffin Glass Museum.
