Zanesville is a city that was named after Ebenezer Zane, who blazed a pioneer trail through the state. It was the second state capital of Ohio from 1810 to 1812. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of Zanesville was 24,721 in 2021. Some of the places of interest in Zanesville are the Y Bridge, which is a unique three-way bridge that spans the confluence of the Muskingum and Licking rivers; the Zanesville Museum of Art, which features a collection of American and European paintings, sculptures and ceramics; and the Lorena Sternwheeler, which offers scenic cruises along the Muskingum River.
