Miami County is located in west central Ohio, bordered by Champaign and Clark Counties to the east, Montgomery County to the south, Darke County to the west, and Shelby County to the north. Its county seat is Troy. The county was named after the Miami tribe of Native Americans. As of the 2020 Census, Miami County has a population of 108,774 people. The economy of the county is diverse, with a mix of agriculture, manufacturing, and service industries. The county is home to a number of parks and recreational areas, including Miami County Park District and Hobart Urban Nature Preserve. The county is also home to several colleges and universities, including Edison State Community College.
