Oberlin is a city in Lorain County. It has a population of about 8,250 people, according to the 2020 census. Oberlin is best known for being the home of Oberlin College, a liberal arts college that was founded in 1833 and was the first in the country to admit women and black students. Oberlin also has a rich history of social activism and cultural diversity. Some of the places of interest in Oberlin include the Allen Memorial Art Museum, the Frank Lloyd Wright House, the Oberlin Heritage Center and the Apollo Theatre.
