Williams County is located in the northwest corner of Ohio and is bordered by the state of Michigan to the north, Fulton and Henry Counties to the east, Defiance County to the south, and the state of Indiana to the west. It was founded in 1820 and is named after David Williams, an officer in the Revolutionary War. The county seat is Bryan. According to the 2020 census, the population of Williams County was 37,102. The county has a total area of 402 square miles. Agriculture is a major industry in Williams County, with the county being home to many dairy farms and other types of farming operations. The county is also home to several small towns and villages, including Bryan, Edgerton, Montpelier, Pioneer, and Stryker.
