Meigs County is a county in southeastern Ohio, named after Return J. Meigs Jr., who was the fourth governor of Ohio. According to the 2020 census, the county had a population of 22,210 people, with Pomeroy as the county seat and Middleport as the largest village. Meigs County is located in the Appalachian Plateau region, with a scenic landscape and a rich coal mining history.
