Summit County is located in northeastern Ohio, bordered by Cuyahoga County to the north, Stark County to the south, Portage County to the east, and Medina and Wayne Counties to the west. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 540,428. The county seat is Akron. The county has a total area of approximately 423 square miles. The county is home to several small towns and villages, as well as the city of Akron. Summit County is home to several state and local parks, including the Summit Metro Parks, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and the Sand Run Metro Park. The county is also home to the Akron-Summit County Public Library and the Akron Civic Theater.
